Halfway Reflection

Image
14A- HALFWAY REFLECTION 1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?  - The behaviors I used to keep like surrounding myself with motivated students who get their work done on time. Another behavior is knowing it's required to do it so I can pass the class. Setting a schedule to keep up with assignments or at least know when they are due. 2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this? - I always feel like giving up, but what pulls me through is my family and friends. Mainly my family who worked hard to get to where I am today. So I just do what I got to do to make them and myself proud. 3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester...

Reading Reflection No. 1

13A – READING REFLECTION NO. 1 1) You read about an entrepreneur: Miracles Happen by Mary Kay Ash What surprised you the most?            - That Mary Kay Ash went through so much like having to care for her ill father and losing her husband after her business started, but she still pursued her dreams. What about the entrepreneur did you most admire?           - That she put her career last in list of priorities. She put God number one, then her family, and lastly her career. What about the entrepreneur did you least admire?            -  She thinks that women need to rely on their looks for a good portion of their life, which is dis-concerning to me. I think that it is ridiculous that women to rely on looks instead of her skills. Did the entrepreneur encounter adversity and failure? If so, what did they do about it?            - The adversity tha...

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

12A – FIGURING OUT BUYER BEHAVIOR NO. 1 Segment:  The segment I chose to focus on was the educational part of the service. My interviews will be with one professor that I know that teach an agriculture class within the university of Florida. One teacher that oversees FFA at my former high school and teaches animal sciences. The last one is a teacher that doesn't teach agriculture but is experienced with traveling around state to different schools to teach. -Professor in UF: I interviewed this professor before for a previous blog, so they had a bit of an understanding when I interviewed them again. I told them about my idea of creating a program that was creating to help people understand agriculture. They told that although the idea it self is a good, but the problem was that no one would be willing to listen. The agriculture industry has been open about what happens in the farms for a long time, yet people still are quick to see the bad side. -Teacher that's in FFA: I ...

Idea Napkin No. 1

11A – IDEA NAPKIN NO. 1 1) You. Who you are. What your talents are. What your skills and experiences are. Also: what are your aspirations? Specifically regarding your business concept, how do you see this business (if you were to start it) playing a role in your life?  -My name is Gerielle Suffy. I am a student with the intended major of Animal Sciences. I have don't know if I have any talents. I have an experience with agriculture because in high school I was in club called FFA, which essentially taught me the basics of agriculture. That cause me to want to learn more and that's why I applied to UF. The business would play a major role in my life because I would like my career, that will probably be in the food industry, not under a bad light of society. 2) What are you offering to customers? Describe the product or service (in other words, how you'll solve customers' unmet needs). -My service is providing information about the agriculture industry that people d...

Test the Hypothesis Part 2

9A – TESTING THE HYPOTHESIS, PART 2 Who: From the interviews I did, I found that there are some people that don't fall within the market. The program is about informing the youth and those who want to learn about the truths of the animal industry. There some people who just don't care about the animal industry and chose not to learn more about it. There is a hidden but obvious market on informing the population about the industry. The children is the target for the market. Since the youth is learning for most of their life, learning about what they eat could help them in the future. What:  Something I knew and was definitely reaffirm about was the fact when someone thinks one way it's hard to change their mind about it. Why:  Understanding how your food gets to your plate is important, but there are some people that rather not know the truth.                                   ...

Solving The Problem

8A- SOLVING THE PROBLEM Thanks to the interviews of the previous blog I came up with the idea of creating a program that educate the youth about the animal industry and help debunked the myth like 4-H and FFA Depending on where you are from, you probably have a good understanding of the agriculture as a whole. But there are those who live in urban areas and they don't have the same opportunity to understand about the animal industry like those in the rural areas. I think the program could good for the youth to learn and understand who is in charge of producing their food. There is only a couple of versions of the program: The first one is that it's a traveling program that visiting allowing schools to teach the students about the food they eat. It could last a couple of lessons that last a few weeks, so it could get the students interested in animals. The second one is that its an extension program that starts a club in interested schools and that has students engagin...
